On a car/truck vehicle its almost not worth it to me. For the time and ease I can take it to wal-mart for $25 and i'll be in and out in no time (depending on what time you go), i don't have to clean up, shower, put my tools back up, dispose of oil filters, ect ect. Now on the bike it is a different story. Cause most places want $35-40 + oil and filter.

If you take it to autozone ect, and use a 5 gallon ozarka container to store oil ect in , they won't take it if they think antifreeze is in there.

If you "happen" to "accidentally" put some antifreeze in there you can put a cup of dawn dish soap in the mix and shake it up. The dawn works as an emulsifier and creates a weak invert emulsion temporarily so it just looks like it's just oil only

So I have heard :look:

My dad is a mechanic and says he'll get fairly new cars in ..and they say they have been taking them to places every 3,000 to get the oil changed...and he said it'll still have the original filter on them.

I think i'll stick to doing them myself. But..then again, we also have a full shop at our house.

Good point. May have to take some spray paint or marker or something to my filters now.

Yup. You just have to keep an eye on them and you'll be fine.
