You know you're a .....

Ok, i just got pwned by the comedian masters and realized I was confusing Bill Engall and Jeff Foxworth together. Here's your sign is seperate from you know you're a redneck..... I can't do the here's your sign worth a flip, so here's the you know you're a ........

1. You know you're a newb when you think your throttle is stuck and you're gonna need a trip to Motorcycles Unlimited, when you realize your choke has been on full the entire time.

2. You know you're a sport bike rider when you're coworkers call you the power ranger and not the Bandito like the cruiser guys.

3. You know you're a cruiser rider when you determine how much longer you can take to get to work by "cruising and lookin cool'.

4. You know you're a motard rider when you look at handicapped access ramps as motorcycle launching ramps.

5. You know you're a ninja 250 rider when you get behind a large truck to use as cover for the wind and to gain speed to pass other large trucks.

6. you know you're a ninja 250 rider when you drop 2 gears to pass someone ,open the throttle wide open and gain 5 mph.

If you pull up to an intersection on your shiny new Harley, and come to a picture perfect complete stop.... and then fall over because you forgot to put your foot down...

you might be a newb

You know you're a trackwhore when you offer to take a hot chick for a ride before realizing your bike hasn't had a passenger seat or headlights in at least a year.

You know you're a stunter if you start the bike in gear one handed and find yourself chasing it.

If law requires you to rap the throttle under ever overpass you come across, you must be on a cruiser.

If people laugh cuz they think two wheels is too many, and you laugh cuz you think two is too many, you must be riding a 1k.

If you find yourself leaning out of the passenger side of a car to break in your new knee pucks before the PP1 meet that night, you must be a poser.

If the low fuel light was your excuse to the cop you needed to pick up the pace, you must be a sportbiker.

If the kickstand sees more action then the sides of your rear tire, you must be a poser.

I can do this chit all day... Good thread starter... I'll be back in a few.

You know you're a newb when you think the term knee dragging refers to a painful crash.

You know you're a rain or shine commuter when you're bike is filthy dirty and you're not ashamed to show up on a group ride.

You know you're a rain or shine commuter when everyone in your office building shakes their head with worry as you ride out into a thunderstorm, and you laugh about it.

You know you're a newb when you think a sweeper in the back is the reject of the group.

You know you're a squid when the term MSF sounds like internet lingo.

You know you're a squid when you think bandanas are 's miracle protection for your noggin.

If yor excuse to speeding was cause your bike was getting hot and needed to get some air through it, you might be a sportbike rider

Si, i know that. I'm still a newb IMO, but beyond the break in newb status.

See there are:

1. Newb that if rides in parking lot will die
2. Newb that if rides on streets will die
3. Newb that can manage on streets but is considered "special" by all watching the antics
4. Newb that has experince on road to handle situations ok.
5. Newb that has had some close calls and can handle general problems well and maintains MSF principles.

I consider myself #5. I've got tons to learn, I know it, but I've handled sitautions on my daily commute so far that I've learned from that I'm more alert and safe. I can handle a emergency braking from 60 mph fairly well, up higher I'm still getting the hang of it.

I'm a newb to most, but to brand new riders, I've got a few miles on em. I consider every ride a learning experince and won't leave newb status for, say 10 years or so? :-) But I do think i'm ready to ride a 600cc, as long as I take it easy and treat it with respect now, since I'll have over 8-10k miles under my belt before the upgrade. I'm ready to not drop 2 gears and get 5-10 mph!

You might be a trackday junkie when you find the "line" and lean on one a$$ cheek while driving your car around the curves to work

If you run out of gas and have the bike towed... then find the reserve switch when you get it home...
