its not rocket science that the yap bikes are cheaper to buy, make mo' powa', and prolly run better w/ less maint.
although as a point of useless data to this thread, my fully built big bore 2004harley gets 45 mpg, makes nasty drag bike powa' and I abuse/beat that hard on a daily basis. Its been the best / reliable bike I have owned, and I dunno why.

I noticed my neighbor, who is a HPD moto-cop, just switched from his HD to a new ST-1300.

Haven't talked to him yet but before he made the switch he asked me about my FJR and how I liked it.

a friend's dad was a moto constable and they were only allowed to buy bikes that come froom the factory set up as police bike, but he told me some departments let you pick and convert it to police cruiser.
he rode a BMW and said it would smoke the harleys on the test course. I did notice that most of not all of the Katy copy switched from HD to gold wings, though I have to say I may pick the Buell Uly as my police bike.

oh and what's the different between a harley and a vacume cleaner?

on a vacume cleaner the dirtbag is on the inside

HPD is slowly switching over to the ST1300's. Yes each solo officer has to purchase his own bike. I would say its about half honda and half HD now, with many going to Honda in the future. But HD has one thing the hondas don't which is resale value, which is why a lot of officers stick with them.

Yes. They put their life on the line every day to make this country a safer place to live. Let's all hate them for that.

It seems so many are eager to openly bash peace officers at every chance they get. The benefits officers provide are numerous.

When a peace officer saves your life, hopefully you will change your tune.
