Florida police department saves $4,680 per bike by ditching Harley

"A faster, safer, better-performing motorcycle that's cheaper." That's how Officer Chris Dye from the Lake Mary Police Department described his new Honda ST1300 to a local news station. His department worked out that not only were the Honda's $2,500 cheaper than the rival from Milwaukee, but that the servicing costs for each bike per year would drop from $2,700 with Harley to $520 with Honda.

The department also cites fuel consumption: Officers' Hondas are averaging 42mpg, as opposed to Harley's 30.

I saw a couple on Scooters of some sort on 59 the other Morning, I couldn't ride one. I think of it as going down the freeway in a dining room chair

How they keep from bouncing off the seat???

Oh yes. ST1300P for the win!! The sexiest of popo-mobiles. Still hoping that once my ol lady finishes school she gets a nice job with lots'o'mula so I can quit my job and enroll in the police academy. Oh and that my driving record clears up a bit by then...cause it ain't looking so good right now. I would love to be a MotorCop!
