Bangkok considers street-racing zones

Wow. If this becomes law, Social Development and Human Security Minister Sutha Chansaeng will be the coolest person in the world, and Bangkok will be every squid's dream come true.

Understanding that people who own motorcycles like going fast, Chansaeng wants to create urban districts similar to Tokyo's Shinjuku area that would cater to the street racer in all of us. "Those young racers love excitement and challenges," he says. "If we want to stop them from racing in the streets, we need to offer them space with the kind of activities that respond to their needs." We couldn't agree more and hope the security minister sets an international precedent. Living anywhere besides Bangkok just became second rate.
