Want Husky 510SMR or KTM 690 SMC to continue the hooligan activity

Thanks to HPD

I know they keep us from lane splitting, enjoying speeding, hooliganish activities, and things that our rebellious nature tends to lean towards.

On the other side, they have one of the hardest jobs. Boredom with traffic enforcement has to be one thing. Being burnt out with working 50-70 hours a work has to be another. Being the "enemy" to so many people doesn't make it easy, combined with HOT houston weather, not the greatest pay compared to private sector, and disrespect shown by many people towards them. They really deserve our respect, since they merely ENFORCE the laws, and even if we don't agree with not being able to lanesplit, or feel speeding penalities for us were harsh etc... THEY ARE MERELY THE MESSENGER.

I'd like my simple commendation out to the female officer who pulled up behind me yesterday. I was at Kukendahl and Cypresswood, waiting to get in the turning lane. There was a wreck there, and traffic was held up. I was chatting with a cruiser guy with the birthday suit sufficing as protective gear with some cotton coverings, baking. BAKING. BAKING. I would have split, BUT the officer was right behind me, and i saw more further back, I figured that would be the worst time to do something that stupid. So I waited. After about 8 mins, the lady got out and came up to us to say something. The cruiser guy understood, I had to yell, I'VE GOT EARPLUGS IN, SORRY, CAN YOU SPEAK LOUDER? (and had fullface helmet)....

She leaned closer and said "Just wanted to make sure you guys knew there was an accident up the road and there were automobile fluids on the road, be careful you guys" and went back to her car (in 96+ degrees in a bunch of cars).... I wish I could catch her today and tell her thank you, but I didn't get any info and wasn't thinking clearly, and didn't realize how considerate that was.

Way to go, and I hope somewhere she reads this knowing a majority of us respect her job and the difficulty. We may speed sometimes, play the rebel a bit, but are willing to accept the penalities if we do cross paths, and not hold it personally against them as they earn a living for their family and protect US from the crazies out there.

First, they normally all wear kevlar vests, that kind of buffs them up... 2ndly I was baking in 95 plus sun in full gear and thinking about the traffic and where to go. It just didn't occur to me to think that, especially since I have a beautiful wife to go home to.
