250 or maybe an ex250... no offense, but based on statistics etc, anything bigger is you asking to get in trouble/hurt.

No, maybe a tad... hypocritical, but not odd. (Speaking from experience here). However, that does make me feel that a 250 or ex500 would be the most appropiate.

16!!?? bro, i'm sure u think u can ride cuz you've mastered how the clutch works on that busa ( 1 down, 5 up ) but c'mon, let's get real. you've probably ridden to the mailbox or to the cornerstore to grab a redbull, but u know like we all do that when u get ur own bike ur gonna be all over the place. freeways, highways, belt, blah blah. stick to somethin with a smaller engine. 250, 600 cc at the most. what kind of gear do u wear?

None at the moment..... :-(

Start out small then. IMHO, something that's bought and paid for as well. Cause when you fall, and you will, it will be that much less on insurance and repairing your bike due to damages.

Also, just because your big, doesnt mean you can handle the bike that much better. Experience goes a loooooooooong way, and your short on it right now. So take it easy for now. Then when your ready, and have some miles under your belt, you can upgrade to something bigger and better.

I would say maybe a 250 or 500. Or like poopstinkalot said, a 650r......:dontknow:

so.... your dad has a hayabusa that he lets you ride... but your parents don't want you riding... if that is really the case, why would he let you ride one of the most powerful bikes made?

IMO, 16 is waaayyyyyy to young to be on something with as much power as a liter bike. def. stick to something like a ninja 250, 600 tops. not only do you have to think about skill, but you also need to think about ego. at 16 we all though we were invincible so play it safe and get something you can grow out of. it's better to move up in size than to bust your @$$ and wast money on a bike that you can't ride anymore due to you being hurt or the bike gets totaled or something.

Wow. kawasakimaniac don't you know how to use google? Beginnerbikes.com, ninja250.com etc?

I'm tempted to think this is just a forum member playing games restarting the whole debates that have raged about the 250 etc in previous threads. Please mods, close down another useless thread, or others please just pitch in and tell someone to learn how to GOOGLE before they post blatantly lazy posts... geez.

BTW, i'm rarely a flamer, pretty much never, and don't mind answer repeated questions, but the wording of this, the username, low posts, just sounds like someone needs to google a bit then post an intelligently well researched question...

If I had to guess, dad was in the yard/street... or following nearby etc.
..and the parents hesitation/concern is more general traffic/renvironment
than the machine performance.
