Ducati 1098

I need opinions on the Duc 1098 from people who have ridden them. I recently sold my '04 ZX-10R and am looking for something new. I had recently narrowed down my list to the '08 ZX-10R and '08 ZX-14, but am now interested in the Duc 1098. I have been riding inline 4's since '95. I have also owned an RC-51 and currently have a V-Twin cruiser.

What where you looking to know about them? They are a lot of fun to ride but can be very moody in slow traffic or long rides ex: the position of the vertical cylinder's exhaust runs right by your right leg casting a burning from if you sit in traffic long enough. When I wear my full leathers I don't feel it as bad. The riding position was not design for long periods of time, but can be easily resolved with some throttle meister cruise control. If you are going to have passangers the wont like the ride because the tail slants downward enough to slide them foward on you (which both can be a good thing if you are not looking to give people piggy back rides or if you have that super hott chick riding with you and you want her all upon you ) I mean that about all I can think of right now since I just woke up and am still half asleep if you need to know something feel free to shoot me a pm

PM Flyin' Duc, he's got a 999 and at 1098, as well as a GSXR1k and Busa, and, and, and... I'm sure he can give you some perspective.

my fave bike unlike most. the riding position suits me way better and the throttle response is out of this world. get one. you wont be sorry.

I love it for long rides.

I went and checked one out today. Sweet looking bike. The seat/footpeg/handlebar position felt pretty good. The seat was a little hard though.

i dont think he has the 999 anymore,i traded him for the GSXR1K back in NOV i think.
i cant comment on the 1098,but the 999 suits me just fine and i'm 240 6' tall.
i am also in the market for a 1098 if some one has one has one shoot me a Pm.or will trade $$ and 999 or 998 for one.

I've ridden Flyin'Duc's 1098 and I personally don't think it's any better than my 999. I didn't like the suspension but the ergo's were alright. Nice bike though, just not for me. And I couldn't feel a difference in power even though it's supposed have around 20HP more than mine.

Mine has been re-geared but it still weighs about 430 pounds wet and has about 135 HP at the crank.

no. because bikes dont have reverse. hard to move around. without having to move like 3-4 of them and they tip over easier than cars.

must have been a gixxer owner.

typical gixxer questions.
"I wonder what color of rim stripes would accent my eyes better"
"will this undertail make my look big"
