I don't care what yall say...

Just like King Kenny, Agostini, and Wayne Gretsky (thrown in there to see if yall are sleeping), there will never be another Valentino Rossi!

MotoGP dot com is doing a series on him for his 200th GP, and the vids are free.

Check 'em out:

http://www.motogp.com/en/videos/2008...he+125cc+years

http://www.motogp.com/en/videos/2008...he+250cc+years

I'm sure the 500/ 990/ 800 vids will come over the next couple of days.

I find myself rooting for Rossi every race. He's seems to be a great professional, and is a pretty good rider too (Captain Obvious). Plus, I love watchin the interviews after the races. "i hab to push a bit, and fortunate to get de ween." lmao

A lot of people call Lorenzo the 2nd Rossi.

I once saw an interview with Jackie Chan. They asked him about people calling him the 2nd Bruce Lee. He quickly backed away from that. With all respect to the great Lee, he just said......"No, no I'm just the first Jackie Chan, that's all."

Lorenzo is a great rider like Rossi in many ways, but he's just the first Lorenzo.

Great riders like Rossi will come and go, he was just the freak/phenom of his time........or our time I should say., because he's still here.

I'll never get tired of watching him ride.

Thats exactly what I'd call him. All the things we "know" about riding a motorcycle don't apply to him. He doesn't even bother to look through turns! He somehow manages to make passes on the last lap with tires that "should" be worn the F out. He's simply a freak. However, he's so good it makes watching the frontrunners in motogp boring......cuz its just him alone.

Lorenzo's gonna have to figure out how not to crash. He's been out 2 or 3 this year. How many's Rossi or even the midget DNFed?

Exactly! I think Lorenzo is a good rook to the big bikes but i feel like he pushes himself too much and hasnt learned his boundaries quite yet, not bashing i love rossi and lorenzo.

A Rossi crash cost him the championship to Hayden even after Pedrosa kamikazied Hayden the race before in '06.

He'll win the title back again this year I think. He's got dingo on the run and while he's strong, he's still down 50 pts on Rossi. Mini me and Dingo are decent riders but they're the "winner" type riders who prefer to get a huge lead out in front and leave everyone in the dust. They both have shown that they can maintain pace with Rossi but when it comes down to it, he's a better racer. Lorenzo, got talent and skill, but needs to slow down. He's got my vote for rookie of the year though.

Please remind me how many champs Val has??? Bottom line, he's figured out how to finish most races while winning a pretty good percentage of them.

I was just pointing out that, although he doesn't crash often, at least ONE crash cost him everything.

That crash did not cost Rossi the championship.

Hayden had 1 DNF in 2006...

Rossi had 4 DNFs in 2006... 2 mechanical, 1 tire, 1 crash

Hayden had 2 wins in 2006... (one was a gift from Colin)

Rossi had 5 wins in 2006...

I'm not trying to take away from Hayden during 2006, he was super consistent. But there is no doubt that Rossi was the best rider despite losing the championship by 5 points.

I love it in the movie Faster the doctor is talking about the rivalry between Rossi and Biaggi. Rossi's heart rate only goes up into the 120s. Biaggi's went up into the 160s or 170s. Rossi is one cool cat!

I'm sure he worked up to that point, but I think Rossi is made for racing.

Ya know being old like I am I remember having these thoughts about Kenny too.
I felt like there will NEVER be another rider as good. And I was right.

Rossi just very well may be better! Sorry Kenny.... You're the king in my book but Rossi can ride.
