I'm going back to where I came from

DIRT!

I started riding 20 years ago on a 125cc two stroke dirt bike.
I've been wanting a dirt bike ever since and finally got one.
It's '05 Yamaha TTR125L, electric start (it's bit*h to kick start when you crash in -12F while riding on the ice).
It has some after market suspension work done which is very nice.
Now I need some dirt gear and set of ice tires.
Can't wait to play dirty and rough!

From my photo, #52 is Robert Jensen.
For those who don't know the guy, he holds a lot of track record through out the country.
We got invited to his family owned pond in Fargo and got to ride (or left behind) him.
He (and his friends) was smokin fast.

This guy's railin pretty good, too.

I'm going back to where I came from

I saw him at BIR over CRA race weekend.
He was just... flyin.
On second lap, he'll be a half track away from everybody.
On 6th lap (two laps before the race ends), he'll start lapping guys (these are experts).
Funny thing is though.
He the least "racer looking" racer I've ever met.
He totally looks like a farmer from Fargo, ND.
He's parents were there and they are the biggest Harley riders ever!

I thought pavement trackdays were a little dangerous but man, can you imagine what those ice tires would do to your hide?
Do you wear any protection under the ski pants and jackets?

You wear A LOT of everything.
Including dirt bike/motocross protective gears (knee, elbow, chest, back protectors).
And it's really rear one of those tires get down to your skin.
It chews your clothes a little bit, but that's about it.
