New to the site and asking a favor.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the site. Got recomended to check it out after I posted on craigslist about my bike being stolen on father's day.

If anyone cares here is my post:
http://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/724799339.html

Sadly my bike got stolen the day before I was supposed to go to Geico and get insurance for it and my truck. I had been putting it off until I got payed and Monday is my day off to do errands. If anyone has seen the bike around or seen anyone selling parts from it, please let me know. I am good for the $500 reward listed for any information that gets it back in my hands. Also, if there is a better place to post this that it will get seen by more people, please let me know. I know it's a long shot, but I gotta try.

If any of ya'll have seen me in the past, I wear a flat grey scorpion helmet and generally am riding in the montrose area as that's where my girlfriend and me both work.

The worst part is that I had a brand new chain and sprocket kit from driven USA in the mail, and a PUIG windscreen. I had just put on my new sport bars the day before and cleaned my chain. Was getting ready to ride it again since I hadn't been on it without insurance... heh. The good news is I got a raise recently, so maybe I'll be able to afford a new bike sometime soon! Crossing my fingers and getting lojack next time.

Thanks man. I don't expect to see it again ever but I can't just sit back and not try.

I love Kawi's and I've got my eye out for a ZX10R now...

I'm starting to think it might have been a personal vendetta thing because there are tons of bikes in my complex. Nobody has anything locked up, and two of them are $15k harleys at least. I have the cheapest bike here, although admittedly it is the only "sport" bike of the lot.

This guy who was obsessed with my girlfriend flipped his last month and decided to start making threats towards me and stuff. His best friend works for a tow company and I know a couple more of his friends ride and know a decent amount about bikes. A few of them own and operate tow trucks as well. So it might be that it as stolen just to it up and dump it somewhere...

It has an odd feeling of being singled out for the theft since the other bikes are just as accessible, and probably easier to sell the parts from. Who rides 650 ninja's around here? Me and like 2 other guys in Houston maybe? Anyways...

Welcome. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. FYI it is required by law to have insurance.

Good luck on finding it, sorry if what I say comes off wrong or negative, but I see this happen to often. People with no insurance and bike gets stolen.

J:/:

No man, it's cool. I understand how it looks, living in an apartment without insurance. I have lived here before in the past, and generally it is a very safe area with a lot of police patrol. The apartments even pay to have off duty cops patrol the lots in their down time.

The reason I didn't have insurance was because it lapsed at the end of April and at the time I was out of work, and was JUST starting a new job and in the process of moving out of the ghetto of Houston. I moved, got caught up on all my important bills, and then planned to reinsure my bike so I could ride it again. I hadn't ridden without insurance even once.

It just happened so perfectly. The paycheck I got on the 15th of June was a 3 week check, I had tons of overtime, and it was literally enough money I could have put a down payment on a new bike if I had wanted to, lol. That's why I had ordered all the new parts. Anyways, so I had a nice relaxing weekend and father's day, and said "First thing monday morning I'm going to get all this stuff taken care of."

Turns out it was one day too late...

Luckily it was fully paid for. I bought the bike and my 92' Nissan pickup at the same time. My truck runs like a champ and will probably keep running until it hits 300k miles (crossing fingers).

I'm all about having a beater daily driver for when it rains and then having a nice bike. Both of my vehicles got great gas mileage too, so I was the only one of my friends not about gas prices.

Also, I have been scanning craigslist and other resources to see if anyone is parting it out. I got a call last night from an ambulance driver in Sugarland who saw my post on craigslist and said he saw my bike in front of Razzous off of 59 yesterday. He claimed it looked exactly the same but had a large scratch on the gas tank on the left side. It was gone by the time I got there though... *shrug*
