wheelie school

Has anyone had any experience with one of the wheelie schools? I came across one (www.ononewheel.com) that is supposed to be in Texas next month. I'm looking for an opportunity to learn how to do a basic controlled wheelie. I would prefer to do so without having to make all of the mistakes that are part of the normal learning curve on my new bike.

pending cost it would be cheap to buy a 50 and learn on it, sell it for what you buy it for, then just ease into it on your big bike

That is also something that I am considering. I've read in a few threads though that the wheelie skills that you learn on a 50 don't transfer very well to a big bike. Has anyone who has used a 50 to learn to wheelie felt comfortable when they moved to a bigger bike?

i have... but i also don't take the busa to BP either. I have more confidence and less oh feeling when it comes up though. I think if i took it to BP, i'd know what to do... it's prolly close to what the 12 o clock feels like on my 50

3 months on a 50 and within 2 days (5 hours) of riding my big bike i was rolling idle (very slow) in control wheelies on my YZF600R. never wrecked it stunting. just one day on a SMR.

Thanks for the link Prodigy. It looks like the guy who wrote that review went to the same school that is coming to Texas. It sounds like people have had mixed results with the school.

Either way, from what I am hearing it sounds like practicing on a 50 is the way to go. Mekrew I might have to take you up on your candy and gatorade offer. Now I just need to find a good deal on a 50.
