sell the Dinosaur and upgrade if you spent 1500 on your zx it's still slower and puts out less power then a newer bike, it sucks but you are working with 14 year old technology and that's just a losing situation if you sink more money into it compared to something new.

Have you ridden a newer bike? If not, you'll be in for a treat. The technology in suspension alone is worth the extra cash.

lol I guess I can't say much. I have a dinosaur as far as modern sport bikes are concerned. Still love her though.

Sure its older but its still a very competent machine that most people will never be able to get 100% out of anyhow. It handles like its on rails and if he reallllly wants or needs more power a ZX9 engine will near bolt right in.

I am sorry but I prefer all the 90's SS bikes styling to any of the "swap colors and guess who made it" thats been on the market for the last 8yrs or so.

you obviously have never ridden one or your smokin crack ! i endurance raced one back in the day and in my opinion... it handled like a wheel barrow full of bricks. the bikes of today are so good right off the showroom floor its amazing.

I agree, go with something newer and you will be grinning from ear to ear. Your bike will need a lot to feel like new again. The engine and tranny are just the tip of the iceberg. Suspension, wheelbearings, stem bearings, chain, sprockets and then you are getting closer. But by the time you did all that, you are going to spend less on a newer bike.

I'll give you 1/2 of what you paid to buy that beast back...I need transportation to/from work...and BTW, that beast can run with most of these newer bikes....sure it's heavy and slowER, but you gotta know how to rail with it. I'm not "fast" by any means, but I had no problem passing GSXR 1000's while rolling through the chicanes....only downfall was those hooligans would pass me on the straights.

mudbug. I say for what it's worth, keep it, you won't see much return for selling it. Use it as a track toy, commuter, or something. No doubt it's still a great bike, but I am sure when you get on a more modern sportbike you will enjoy the advances we have made of the last decade. I had a 01 and even from there to an 08 I was impressed. First and foremost, after you get a FI bike, you will realize how much nicer it is for everyday riding than a carb'd bike. Let me know if your going bike shopping. I always love to go bike shopping, whether I buy or not.
