PGR RIDE: Sgt. Jeff Wyers, Galveston PD - RIP

GALVESTON POLICE OFFICER (20 YR. VET)
SGT. JEFF WYERS
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18TH


Galveston, TEXAS Police Officer, Sgt. Jeff Wyers was killed on his motorcycle Saturday, June 14th and his new wife seriously injured, when a motorist pulled out of a convenience store parking lot in front of them in Texas City Saturday Afternoon. Sgt. Wyers was taken by Air Ambulance to the University Of Texas Medical Branch's John Sealy Hospital in Galveston where he was pronounced dead.

His wife was also taken to the medical branch in serious condition.

Sgt. Wyers, and his wife, Crystal, had gotten married Friday evening the day prior. The Sgt. was a 20 year veteran of the Galveston Police Department put in his retirement papers that morning.

Please keep Mrs. Wyers, Family Members, the Galveston Police Department and The Blue Knights - TX31 Family in your thoughts and prayers at this tragic and very difficult time.

The Family has requested PGR - TEXAS attend the services on Wednesday, June 18th. They have asked that the PGR set their HONOR FLAG LINE at 0830 at the CROWDER FUNERAL HOME at 817 HWY 517 & HWY 646 (North East Corner)

STAGING LOCATION: 3410 I-45 South, Dickinsen, TX (Southbound Service Road, Kroger Parking Lot, enter at What-A-Burger and Stage along curb next to service road.) Going south take exit 19 and move to right hand lane.

STAGING TIMES:

STAGING: 0730 - 0800
SAFETY MEETING: 0800 - 0810
KSU: 0815
FLAG LINE SET-UP @ FUNERAL HOME: 0825
FLAG / WATER SUPPORT TEAM:

LEAD: Waterboy

FLAG BIKE ESCORT:

The PGR has been asked to provide a Flag Bike Escort (2 to 4 Riders) for the Family to the Funeral Home. Team will be determined at staging.

NOTE: ( All RC's & RC-A's should arrive at staging a minimum of 15 Min prior to Staging or earlier, thanks)

ROAD GUARDS won't be needed for the most part, however, we will ride in with a MISSING MAN TEAM IN FRONT of the procession to the Funeral Home.
