Jason Domingues started on a 600+sb back in '91.... ask him his opinion. It's not hard, he's laying in the ground in a houston graveyard after rear ending an SUV at 80mph.

Yea, viper came here for advice & opinions.
The value of an opinion is dependent on knowledge and experience...

Sportsbikenet hits on this very thing...

"I've been the moderator of the New Riders' Forum for a year or so now and I've seen a lot of guys with little experience trying to teach other people. Sometimes the advice they offer is good, based on something they read or a course they've taken. Sometimes the advice they give is bad and is based on too little seat time. This is likely to get someone hurt."

"Remember there is no wrong opinion." This may be technicaly correct... there's also a thing called BAD advice.

Now we have a new guy, asking for opinions/advice when we have no knowledge of his experience age or background.

It is a safe(r) assumption that he's not the golden child to MC's.
It is safer to assume he's young, not middle age +.
It is safer to assume he has little to no experience on MC's
(and if we read, we note he states this lat one himself).
It is safer to assume that he does NOT have the self-control needed
to start out on a true SB.

'We' want people to live and learn. So we make a 'safe' suggestion
based on the information provided, statistics & experience.
Simple intelligence, tells us based on these that a true 600+ SB is NOT a good bike to start on.

Yes we know some people have, and are still among us. Some of those which have not had a serious accident caused by mis-calcuation on their part. The numbers and statistics however point to these being the exception not the norm.

To blindly recommend a true SB or high displacment bike to someone with no experience or minimal experience, based simply with comments to 'respect' the bike are ignorant & stupid (not to mention displaying lack of experience in itself).

+1 That's what it boils down to, yet some will never get it (or choose to ignore it), and continue with their bad advise to boost their egos.

Buy hey, what do I know? According to DL's opinion, I guess I'm an "old fart whos way past his prime", too!! Oh ... maybe I am

Ed, how do you deal with the yearly wave of new riders who think a year or two of riding and *x* number of miles gives them the wisdom to dispense advice to others who have never even ridden before.

It's really just a thread, for people to post a summary of riding experience etc... and no protection/verification to keep anyone from putting in a line of BS. However it does provide a place for 'new' people to go look, and gauge a posters 'experience'.

DL donít waste your breath. Racer-X and ulric are the laurel and hardy of MH. Or maybe Gilligan and the Skipper, Iíll let you decide which one is which.

The way these guys talk it's a miracle anyone ever learned to ride or lived to tell about it. They throw statistics out there and copy and paste a bunch of sh*t none of which they were capable of generating Iím sure.

Apparently anything an insurance company has ever published that justifies there high rates Racer-X has taken as the Gospel apparently itís never occurred to him that they are in business to make money. Ulric is mr copy and past boy. Racer-X throws it out there and his side kick Ulric will dig up some write up somewhere that will help make it "true".

I can't help but wonder... do either of them actually ever do any riding? Or has carpal tunnel from extended hours on the computer limited throttle use.

Captain RX and his side kick Ulcer, saving one life at a time from the safety of there computer desk..
keep up the good work guys!!!

why do you think i have a bazillion post..........

6-7yrs doing "this"

most have less then a yr of riding and are then "qualified" to dispense info , they're also the one's that don't need MSF, and if they do take it, is to dismiss a no M ticket, and don't learn anything in class.

DC3R,
maybe they should just buy a harley (helmet is clearly optional) that way less power, less speed= less risk. Then thy can buy a handle bar koozie and carry their pimp juice (og's dont leave the crib with out it).

,
I am brilliant!

I'd say we have to wonder the same about you. 2 threads are all you have posted on this forum. You've contributed almost nothing of any value to this site.
Most of your posts in this thread are nothing but troll bait and attacks.... and it really looks like your developing some kind of strange homosexual, stalking behaviour.

Has anyone in this forum actually MET this guy or is he just another poser point wanna be?
