The Corsa III's are good, as well as the BT002 Ride Smart and the 2CT's.

All of those tires are geared towards track day use and therefore the mileage will be significantly less than street tires.

The real question that you need to ask is, what percentage of track use vs street use do you use your bike?

If you're mostly going to be riding the street with just an occasional track day thrown in, a good set of street tires will offer all the traction you can use, especially at novice speeds on the track.

We carry all 3 track tires in stock, the Pirelli, Bridgestone and the Michelin, as well as a large selection of street tires. Let us know if we can help.

You can also visit John Hutchinson with South Central Race Center for your Bridgestone track tire needs as well.

Seems to me if you're able to get 7k miles out of a pair of BT015s that the problems that you experienced with traction where either

1. non-existant

2. due to improper tire inflation

3. due to cold tires (which could be a result of #2).

I'd personally avoid the diablo corsa 3s, BT002s, or even PP 2CTs. For your style of riding, I think you're well within the grip of the stock tires, and the extra grip that a stickier tire provides will be a complete waste. You'll essentially being increasing the frequency of replacement without getting any advantage at all. I don't mean this to be insulting, but you've never even been on the track, and there's no place on the street where you'd even want to push hard enough to make use of the extra grip. By all means try a different brand if you'd like, but avoid the more trackday oriented compounds.

^ no way man!

if you have an SS bike you need the latest and greatest sticky tires, cuz "you" ride like rossi and need tha traction. even new riders cuz they're automatically great riders cuz they ride SS bikes.

/sarcasm.

The new BT016 sounds like a great tire for this situation. This tire is the only 5 compound section tire massed produced for the public. The front is a dual compound and the rear has 3 compounds on it. That is so you don't have such a drastic change in grip as you go from compound to compound. We track tested this tire at Cresson and after a full trackday with Brandon on board, they showed almost no wear, and they were gripping great.

more often it's the young bucks who've been riding a short time and already know it all.

i get that ALOT in class. usually older guys are wiser and are there (in class) to learn. and get legal.

and sometimes your right, old guy's don't learn new things well, but they have survived for XX yrs.

lol...true i am a true believer with age comes wisdom, i believe it's b/c ur natural and physical gifts and talents begin to dwindle and you rely on technical skills and experience. i took the msf course even tho i rode b4 and it's saved my life a few times. im still undecided on which tires i want.lol
i know i wont get as many miles on the next set bc 1.) im more comfortable and know my bike better 2.) it will be a diff. type of tire and 3.) im planning on doing a few track days.

Sounds like you got some good advice and lot of choices out there Dean. Let me know what you go with. I only run pilot powers, but would consider 2ct's. But I am partial to michelins. Just my prefference.
