gsxr help

i need some help, got a 05 gsxr750, bike was running perfect, was headed to crab river road, then loss of power, bike died at stop light, started back up but wouldn't idle, had to keep it reved to stay on,so burns and i decided to head back home, and on the way back,i decided to see if it would clear something by full throttle, so in 6th gear i twisted it full throttle, and it seems to want to get up and go but the rpms just slowly moved up, and it takes time to build up speed. also no errors or lights are on the guages, all normal, so i need some help to as what could the problem be? te motor don't sound normal, when reved it sounds fine but at low idle if it does it putters and sounds weird, has new oil coolant. so help out peeps chime in on what it could be. thanks.

air filter?

(totally just grabbing at straws with that one, cause it wouldnt explain the sudden onset of issues)

Could be a few things. Air filter, fuel injectors, loose battery terminals...

See if Patrick can see it tomorrow. He usually offers to check out problems like that if you bring it by the shop.

The same symptoms that your describing happened to my 04 600. 04-05 600s & 750s are plagued with a throttle body problem that causes the butterfly valves to shut, thus causing a marked decrease in power. Usually your FI lights will flash, so a little strange that you have no FI indicators flashing.

As I understand it, the butterfly valves act sort of like an automatic choke. After the bike warms up the valves open and should remain open. If you want to test this out (since you said no lights flashing), you should be able to run the bike around the block a couple of times to let it warm up, come back, shut the bike off, lift the tank and remove the air filter. Turn the key to the on position and look at the butterfly valves. They should be open, or they should move to the open position. If they remain shut, wire the valves open or pay the 600-700 bucks it costs to repair.

Of course, if you've put diesel in your bike by mistake, you'll have the same type of problems, and not a good idea to run the bike around the block.
