yea I know, I'e had a couple of older 250's as well. The 08 definately handles better and at 70-75 mpg you can't beat it unless your on a schwinn

Worst bike I've ever had the misfortune of working on. Friend of mine bought one a few years ago and it went through bearings faster than tires. Literally. At least one set of wheel bearings per tire change, usually 2-3. He went through quite a few tires since it was his only vehicle. Get a real Buell instead.

Have you ever thought of dealerships out side of Texas? There are a few just across the border in Oklahoma who have them in stock and are willing to deal.

With the CMRA races in Hallett this weekend you might even be able to get someone to transport it for you.

, they look so much better with bigger tires. Sorry for the noob question, but is it possible to simply upgrade the tires on a older one?

This is nothing new, the ex250 before they redid it since 1987 I believe has been DOMINATING the marked and has ALWAYS been Kawasaki's #1 sold motorcycle period.

and I dont think the other 4 care enough to make one, "in the states they almost all have one in Europe" or ship it to America.

sucks because Honda has a CBR250 in Europe that looks just like a 600

Theres no point in making it handle worse by putting bigger tires on it. The widest tire you're going to stuff on the rear rim is a 130, maybe a 140. With that being done, the tire would be literally pinched in the narrow rim.

Going to Europe every other year like I do you can see that there is a way bigger market for the 125 and 250 bikes. The gas over there is a lot more expensive plus with the narrower roads and such make them more practical. The manufactures know that we like big stuff here in the USA and that is why the smaller bikes don't sell here as well. I think we are starting to see a shift though with the gas prices always eeking up and more people wanting to ride.

We are probably right on the edge of a big wave of new motorcycle riders coming into the market. I already see more bikes on the road than I did even 2 or 3 months ago. I actually see a lot of scooters now where as before they were practically non exsistent on the roads.

You can upgrade to 17" wheels. There are several racers in the CMRA that have performed this modification already.
