I would have liked to have seen Honda use the same type of red white and blue paint scheme that they did on the original cbr900rr, event the UK paint jobs on the new 1000 are pretty drab...:/:

The bike isn't completely ugly. The lower fairing that extends back towards the rear tire is a little weird. Also the curvature of the front fairing reminds me of a katana. lol. The 07' fairings look a lot better.

Body work is almost the same? Not really the 08 600 is more like the 07 body style. The fairings still look like the 07. Look at the 08 1000 and you will see what the difference is, yes the blinkers are integrated in the mirrors in the 08 but they should have kept the fairings the same style.

The flat front of the 08 1000rr is more based on function than looks. Fairly sure it's stated somewhere the reasoning behind the flat nose was for improving how the bike turned in.

I'll leave it for someone else to dig up the link.

I sat on a new '08 fireblade. Its a strange fit. The seat actually rolls over the edge of the subframe which leads me to believe it'll be an easy bike to climb all over on the racetrack. However, the tank is still too wide for my taste. The tail section is tiny too. This doesn't seem like a bike that would be comfortable riding two up. Also, it still has a honda seat. For ****'S SAKE is it really that hard to put padding in your seats? Its almost like honda's trying to make their riders win by making it so painful to be on the bike a long time that you WANT faster lap times so your stops hurting.

Taking into account all the forces acting on a bike when you're trying to turn it in.......I think the areodynamics of the front end have got to be negligible.

...or start riding it as it's intended and not sitting on the seat and kicking back.
