Dude, if you work at a hospital, surely you're familiar with HIPPA.

I'm sure you feel like you're doing a good thing here, but you're treading on dangerous ground...

Just sayin', wouldn't want to see anyone getting in any trouble

One thing I've learned regarding things like this is to keep my mouth shut regarding patient confidentiality (actually, they teach this on day 1), and let the public get the information in the usual manners.

Terrible Tragedy. Here's from KHOU

*****************************

Newlywed Galveston police officer killed in motorcycle crash

06:37 PM CDT on Saturday, June 14, 2008

By TJ Aulds / KHOU.com

TEXAS CITY, Texas -- An off-duty Galveston police officer was killed, and his new bride was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Texas City Saturday afternoon.

The couple had just been married Friday night.

Police said the accident occurred at a particularly dangerous intersection of State Highway 146 and Avenue T about 2:30 p.m.

Sgt. Jeff Wyers and his wife were southbound on State Highway 146 in north Texas City when a vehicle pulled out from a convenience store, said Texas City Police Chief Robert Burby.

Wyers was taken by air ambulance to the University of Texas Medical Branch’s John Sealy Hospital in Galveston where he was pronounced dead, a Galveston police spokesman confirmed.

His wife, Crystal Robinson, also was taken to the medical branch and was in serious condition, Burby said. A Galveston County Sheriff’s Office spokesman confirmed that Robinson had worked as a deputy for the department until she left the agency just before her wedding.

Wyers, a 20-year veteran of the Galveston Police Department, was planning to retire soon, said department spokesman Lt. Jorge Trevino.

Burby said the driver of the vehicle that crossed into Wyers’ path had not been cited. Burby said an investigation would determine whether charges would be filed.

Burby said fatal accidents had become a recurring theme on that section of Highway 146, which connects Texas City to the Bacliff and San Leon communities.

The convenience store from where the car pulled out sits on a small access road that runs parallel to the highway.

There have been more than 10 fatal accidents in that section of the highway, which also features a deep curve, in the past seven years.

Thoughts and prayers out to the family and friends!

That is a horrible intersection. Had the same thing happen to us at that intersection in our car several years ago!

I didn't hear about this until a few hours ago. What I know is second hand from my wife, who heard from her dad, who rode with Jeff. Sounds like a driver needs to be locked up after having "biker killer" tattooed on his forehead.

I only met Jeff once or twice, and the first time was the night my mother in law passed away. Unfortunately I remember nothing of that night, but I know that he was a good guy.

There's a little more info here:
