gsxr 750 1999 ??

Talked to this guy today. What do you guys think?

http://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/718680545.html

Other then what is on the ad. He says the front tire will need to be replaced soon, as well as the clutch. I'll definately have a mechanic check her out first if I drive up there. I know very little about bikes, and he couldn't tell me why he really thought the clutch was going out.

What's the normal price w/labor when replacing a clutch on one of these?

Said he'd take 3250.

Thanks

was 99 the year they went to F.I. ?

the older ones were carbed, and while that not a bad thing, it does make a difference. the F.I. models are a little more desireable. check if its F.I or not for sure. i cant remember exactly when they switched, if it was begining of the run or mid year...

i paid 2600 for my 97 srad about two years ago. completly setup for race. meaning i had to buy a kickstand, but hey it came with a full titanium yosh system.

imo, what he is asking is not tooo far off, except for one thing... if it needs tire and clutch he definatly needs to come down on the price.

show up with $2500 - $2750 cash and wave it in front of his face. if he is about to go overseas he would be smart to just take the money.

In 1998 the 750 went Fi (GSXR750 WW)
the sister 600 SRAD never went Fi
the GSXR600 K1 (2001) was the first of the Fi's
