Insurance cost

Do you pay more for full coverage insurance on your bike or your car?

Just curious on which you generally pay more for!

full coverage for my ex250 and sv650 is 160 a year. Full coverage on both the civic and accord is 1500 year ... big diff.

With what insurance companies want to charge me for full coverage know, not to mention the fact I would never make a claim anyhow cause it would only rasie my rates more. Fck insurance, monopolized government forced scam. I got what the state requires and theft insurance just cause I live in an apartment at the moment.

Well we pay about 150 per month for our 02 Tahoe and convertible Camero! And the 98 for our 04 and 07 Honda 600RRs! And that is full coverage on all of them even though that are all paid for!

I just hear all the time that folks can't afford insurance on their bikes when in our case we pay less for our bikes!

It all depends on your age. Most insurance companies hate younger people with motorcycles.

I am an old fart but pay more on my bike because I haven't had a insured bike in the last 5 years. Insurance companies wanted to see proof of previous motorcycle insurance and experience riding. Even though I have had a motorcycle license since 93. Bleh. Who keeps insurance paperwork thats 7 years old.

93 a month for a 2008 Yamaha R6 full coverage 1000 deductable.
65 a month for a 2008 Toyota Camry full coverage 1000 deductable.

After the first year of coverage if I don't have any tickets or accidents Allstate says it will drop be at least half.

How much is your deductable? Also depends on age, credit, how long you have been riding, single/married, tickets, accidents, MSF course and type of bike.

For me.

Age 35+
married
no tickets in last 5 years
no accidents in last 5 years
MSF course in the last 3 years
credit 700's

Could be insurance companies wanting proof of motorcycle insurance to show you are an experienced rider. If you could come up with that paperwork it would help. My problem I couldn't come up with that paperwork.

I'm 26, have a clean record, and my '07 gixxer thou costs me $36 a month full coverage. My '00 lightning runs me $125. I'm with State Farm.
