Not bursting any bubbles, he said that himself in the article and I'm sure nobody expects him to win or anything.

He'll get used to the bike as much as he can, and if he can ride Assen too, that would solidify Laguna and Indy even more!

My predictions:

Edwards, Hayden and Toseland will help get Spies up to speed that weekend.

He'll outperform Melandri, Guintoli and West but fall short of a top 10 finish.

Back there with Nicky? Hope that's not the case for either one, but Nicky has been dropping spots during the race like Rossi and others are gaining. Sad to see as he appears to be one of the more modest riders.

Nicky (like a bunch of others) has had tire issues. Edwards was complaining about his Michelins too- said he almost crashed on the first couple of corners and had "no grip" for the whole race.

Speaking of tires, I wonder if Ben has to run Dunflops, or if his contract is suspended in situations like this?

Pardon my ignorance in this, but MotoGP only allows Mich. and Bridgestone tires correct? Then AMA SBK all runs the same tires which are Dunlaps? Or, does SBK allow multiple tire manufacturers other than Dunlap?

If they only run Dunlap in SBK I would think the contract is specific to SBK and the other tires used in MotoGP would be used in those races???

Spec tire for WSBK is Pirelli

MotoGP has no spec tire, they can use whatever brand they want. The only thing is that they have rules about how many tires they can use, and they have to have them a week before the race week (I think).

AMA has no spec tire, Dunlop is the most popular and most used by the top riders. Dunlop spends most of their money in AMA.

maybe is also and eye opener if he wants to do GP or maybe SBK, Ducati SBK also mentioned that they may want him to replace Super Troy

a brave prediction
Donnington is very very technical track and the others you mentioned have all ridden there before.
This is Rizla's and Paul Dennings home GP so ignore what you read about no pressure.
The Brits love their MotoGP and the crowd and spectator involvement will be pretty intimidating to someone who used to being top dog in a national series.
I think this is a babtism of fire and I really hope he can rise to the occassion and not come away with any self doubt.
Looking forward to seeing him ride in the flesh though I must be honest .
