You're not that far from Motorcycles Unlimited if you're in Kingwood. Do you know where his shop is located?

Perhaps someone semi-local to the guy might offer to meet somewhere and check it out and give their thoughts. Worse case, help him get the bike to Motorcycles Unlimited or escort the guy there?

A "little bird" told me the bolt on the kick stand had backed out and was binding up the shift linkage....

Peruvian..you might want to take the advice of the collective wisdom of the board and look into taking an MSF course to familiarize yourself with the safe operation of a motorcycle...Just a suggestion..
and maybe take the basic maintenance class that Motorcycles Unlimited does every now and then.

Slap your friend... 40 min/30+ miles vs 19min 12+ miles to Motorcycles Unlimited.

If your having potential tech/mech issues on a bike.,. you want to minimize your time on it until it's fixed/resolved not maximize it.

...so anyway, u should been there by now, whats the news/story (confirm the little bird?)

One of his kick stand bolts had backed out and were locking up the shifter.
We fixed it and checked out the bike, no charge.
