NEED ADVICE..OR AT LEAST INPUT

Ok, so I just purchased a 2007 KAWASAKI ZX600-J right. I got it cheap due to a salvage title due to theft. How do I go about getting it registered and stuff in my name? I am pretty sure it was a good deal since it its an 07 and it runs great. Is a salvage title due to theft bad??

Not sure how that works. I believe that's when it gets a bonded title. Someone can chime in and tell you for sure. BTW....Welcome to MH!!

You can get it titled with the salvage stipulation. Each County is a bit different, but basically the same. You have to do some paperwork and so on. Insurance companies may not want to insure it for much money, that's probably the biggest draw back to buying salvaged title vehicles.

Not sure about texas, but in california a state referee can inspect lighting systems, emission systems and break down of the car/motorcycle and the salvage title can be lifted to a different name. It allows the vehicle to be insured for more then a straight salvage title vehicle.

Whomever you bought the bike from should still have the pink slip... Register at tax office.

to get the salvage title removed you gots to be a licensed dearler/rebuilder, but it registers just the same as any other vehicle, go to the local tax office an pay your cash to the lazy assed civil servant behind the counter

you cannot have the salvage/rebuilt title removed, once its branded, it stays on the title.

if its a salvage certificate that came from an auction place, then the dealer who bought it would have to get it rebuilt/registered. if its a regular title that's branded salvaged or rebuilt, then just go to the tax office with a form 130u and transfer it like any other vehicle. i don't know how the standard presumptive value would apply to a salvage vehicle.

You can still register a salvaged title bike. Insurance is the only thing affected...

BTW, Glad to see you upgraded to a real bike from the Sudookie!!
