Yes I dropped it......

I made it all the way to the track on the freeway for the first time and got about 10 miles from the shop and I dropped my bike. I was traveling down 249 going the posted speed limit and the light turned yellow; I was pretty far away from it so I opted to stop. I applied too much pressure to the back brake and the rear tire started to slide, about 10 feet until I came to a complete but unstable stop right on the line at the light. The bike had a lean to the right side and my little legs were just not strong enough or long enough for me to recover and I slowly lowered her to the ground. Tim was right behind me and he parked his bike as my body rolled into the outside lane. I immediately got up and sprinted for my bike and began to attempt to pick up when Tim came up to assist. Jumped right back on the bike and rode a short distance to a parking lot to assess damage. Tiny scatch to mirror housing, right brake lever, very very slight pitting on exhaust and broken blinker lens. I was really lucky and blessed. Tim said he was still very proud of me and after I smoked a cigarette I got back on my bike and put her away and now I think I will go with some carbon fiber flush mount blinkers.......everything happens for a reason.

My SO dropped her 650 3 or 4 times.. all when stopped in the driveway. Short legs and tall bikes just don't mix.

That's why I laugh when I read people saying not to lower it, as long as you can get one foot or the other down. Doesn't always work out that way...
