Unhappy So I got hit by a car on Saturday

I drove up to motorcycles unlimited and I got hit by a car right near the shop. I was stuck at a light trying to take a left onto 1960, but the light didn't change, so after sitting through 3 lights I decided that I would turn right and do a u-turn.
I looked left and there were a bunch of cars coming but they were far away, I'm really good at gauging speed and timing stuff. So, I took the right on red and as soon as I turned I started getting into the left lane when bam! A lady hit the front left side of my bike and knocked me down. Luckily I was just barley over the line so she just knicked my bike.
She gets out of the car and says she didn't see me at all, helps me pick up my bike, asks me if I'm ok, and if my bike's ok. I say yes and before I know it she jumps in her car and drives off leaving me in the middle of the road. I wouldn't have wanted to call the cops cause I didn't want to have to deal with them and insurance since not much happened, but WTF?
So my bike has a small scratch from the hit and the right foot peg bracket broke from the fall and I think thats it. I dropped it off at Motorcycles Unlimited, but they had to order the part, so I won't have my bike back until at least Wednesday. The thing that sucks the most is that I live in Clear Lake, so getting there is gonna be a challenge.
The moral of the story is always double check over your shoulder before changing lanes and be 100% focused on driving. Unfortunately my mind was not all there that morning cause I was thinking about a lot of stuff that is going on in my life.
I'm fine, just a small bruise on my knee from the bike hitting it, which is all that counts. The bonus is my bike is ok and my gear didn't get messed up either.

What a b@#ch. I would have gotten the plate and made a report at least. Could have done it at Motorcycles Unlimited while you were hanging out for a ride. Thats how so many people get away cause people don't speak up about it unless it would have been your fault then I understand. Better she left any way.

nothing would have happened because he took a right turn on red. at the end of the day, she's not at fault for an illegal turn....although it does suck that he got knocked down....at least he wasnt hurt

Maybe so, but fleeing the scene of an accident is a crime.

You can make a right on red as long as you make a complete stop and look for traffic first. Texas Law.
Accident is an accident. Neither party called to report the accident so does it really exist? No. She left then he left. No crime for leaving then. Think there's more to this story than were led to believe. Consider this a lesson and still a minor expense and set-back. Next time you won't be so lucky and call the cops.

glad you came out of it OK.

But, that is why you never immediately cross from right to left like that - basically you cut her off as she was coming up from behind you.

suck bro :/ glad you're ok! i remember meeting you at a hooters M&G. and yeah do a mirror/headcheck for each lane you cross. your still get across faster than a car. but sometimes those cages can be amazingly sneaky. like a Subaru who just 'appeared' at a redlight next to me. a bright blue, loud STi at that. O.o Bike sounds like it took the hit well enough but the woman was most likely scared it would somehow be her fault. when she could have gotten a free headlight or bumper from you
