Lets call up mythbusters. They can get one of their experts to replicate the myth in the exact conditions as our busa guy did. After some failed attempts, they'll see exactly what it will take to do the loop in 14, which will probably require them to close the freeway for about 30mins. I'd watch it.

I read stories of this, most people will say something like, "it's actually 10 in 20, I did it once and would never do it again. It takes a lot of concentration to run those speeds for that long."

Hard to tell if they are true or not, but surely this is a real concept.
I do think that 14 minute time is real though.

I wouldn't do it. I couldn't anyway, depending on the weather my bike tops around 100 or so.

Rode with a group from PP1 for the first time in a looong time last night. Crazy dangerous, ridiculous fun.

I found out that at a certain speed (lets say 69 mph for argument's sake) my schraeder valve, missing a cap, in the rear tire gets flung open and air escapes. That was not fun. Cap on and the second ride went much smoother. 5 PSI and speed are not the best of friends.

I can believe 155 average is do-able. Dumb, but do-able. I think doing the ton as an average is enough to keep most good and sane riders super alert. 610 does have turns.

werd..i dont like riding 610 going the speed limit in some places, and it seems like theres always construction, yet the roads suck

9.25-9.75 @ 240mph

so..10 minutes? Yea..right.
14 minutes...maaaybe and like ^ above, probably only a couple and a great deal
of luck involved.

I still get a kick out of the suggestion that the loop has gotten 'longer'. :-)
I know of a few who have done this..and can confirm with video.. however I would not post that footage on a public forum...
...no way is is possible in less than 18 minutes.!!!! at least at night!

1 hr and 43 minutes?

Jeez...

After reading that article I feel like a pioneer living downtown. It honestly feels like a ghost town while walking around at night, but it's rather serene as long as you don't get bothered by the local crack head trying to sell his food stamps half price.

Houston isn't a real city.
Nice find though, very interesting read.
