No offense to the inner loop riders, but when we meet people when out they talk about 'riding' as speeding around cars recklessly on the freeway for fun... Usually when Im on the freeway its cuz Im headed to a ride, its not the ride... I have done some hopscotch on the freeway but thats usually w a passenger trying to get some good shots w the cameras of the group.

I can tell you that the "10" in ten is true.. Listen to police scanners or if your so lucky hang out in a wrecker and listen to multiple radios and you will hear it going on. It happens all of a sudden and HPD doesnt have enough time to have "Fox" which is the helicopter out quick enough to be able to round up the issue to catch them. All the riders have to do it hit an exit and and go up a side street. Typical cruiser cant catch them. The new Chargers handle like at the high speeds and usually the Cameros arent out running at 3-5am. Those are mainly used for quick stops on the freeways doing traffic enforcement and typically from midnight to 5 am there isnt as much traffic...

Back in the 80's when "10 in 10" 610 was only 22 miles long. IT has slowly got longer.

Isn't the average speed necessary, 197mph or something, to complete it that fast?

At 14 minutes avg speed would be = 159mph
At 10 minutes avg speed would be = 222mph

Anyone else double check that for me?

I have the loop at 39 miles from maps.google.com, not 37. But otherwise, your math is right.

You're aware that the loop, is just that...a big loop. The only thing thats 'changed' is the # of lanes added in some areas... it hasn't gotten any 'longer'.
