old thread ftl

but since i clicked it... the first time i ever rode a liter bike was when i handed over the cash and rode mine home. i rode my 600 afterwards and a friends 600 and i never wanna go back. with ohlins/racetech suspension setup it tips into turns even faster and easier than my 600 so i'm pretty much in love with it.

Big difference - just got a R1. The 600 seems really really slow off the start compared to 1000. But the 1000 is a (slightly) fat pig compared to 600. I rode a big assed Harley once and wasn't blown away.

Been riding since '77 and last year was the first time I had been on a 600, I'll stick to liter bikes.

Let's see......hmmmm, back in the '70's I had a Kawasaki 750cc 2 stroke triple. Yeah I know it wasn't a litre bike but it was freakin fast and I'm sure it scared me. I had a 1985 Suzuki GS1150E. It scared me. I had a 1990 Suzuki GSXR 1100. Yup it scared me too. Then there was the 2004 Kawasaki ZZR1200. Can't forget about the 2006 Kawasaki ZX-14. With the flys out, Brock exhaust, tuning, and sprockets it was stupid fast and scary. Now I have the '08 CBR1000RR. It has the power to scare me too.

Maybe I'm just a wimp.

My Z1000 is my first bike and the first liter bike also. After that I rode an RC8 and a ZX10 at the Bike show a few months back. Those bikes have significantly more power then mine.

same here. my first bike/literbike is my zx9r also. i respect the out of it. the first day i took it home my buddy was following me in his truck laughing the whole way home. he said he saw me shifting the out of it! he said i didn't hit 35mph and i was already in 5th gear! lol. the first time i cracked open the throttle it was a major rush. i've kept it on both wheels this whole time i've owned it (don't think i have the nads to get it up on 1 ).

The old GSXR1100 was my first, and that thing seemed soo fast back in the day.

And my '03 GSXR1000 would run circles around that bike, lest we get into the '08 modded Gix1K....
