My 03 GSXR 1000. The first couple of days i was pulling the front tire up without trying to. I'd been riding about 5 years when I got the GSXR. I started with a fzr 400 followed by a 99 katana 600.

I've never driven a litre bike. However, I knew I was buying one, when I saw my husband's face after his test drive!

Yeah, I'd wait on the ZX10 till they start looking better... Why they deviated from the 05 model I do not know. I rode street bikes (owned 600's) for 3 years before getting on the 1000.

My first litre bike was an 1100 Katana. Put 88k on it in 18 months. It was a blast, made my 600 Hurricane feel like an anchor .

0 IMAGE 062Kat11

traded that on a ZX-11-if Darth Vader had a bike this woulda been it

0 IMAGE 061ZX11

My first 2 litre bikes i'll never forget. neither was stock for very long either. The Kat actually did a stint at Oak Hill, had to remove the lowers because they were getting ground into the track, shaved a LOT of material off the pegs that day too. If ya know Scott Dennis-ask him about that day, he rode it too!

Rode my friends R1, really didn't get on it though, it was his and his dads but it was his moms name on the title and there was no way I was going to rip on it and then have to explain her her how I crashed it.

First time i opened up my xb12 i almost had a tank slapper haha... that made me pee my pants a little.

out on 249 north of tomball i lifted it up in 1st and 2nd gear... not even back in the seat. was not expecting that.

Do Gold Wings and Ultra Classics count?
A lot of big bikes in the family, just not many SS bikes...

1999 cbr1000.... and oddly when I think SS bike that's the image I always get; with the framed-in instrument cluster and wide tank...

I just happen to have one for sale! (sorry for the whoring)

My first was an '06CBR... loved that bike! It was down on power compared to the GSXR and ZX10, but going from 100hp to 150hp was sweeeeeeet!

Go to the IMS show in end of oct/nov. Kawi lets you ride their sportbikes. I tested an 07 10r there last year, that was my first ride on a liter. I liked it, never got it out of 3rd gear. power is there anywhere in the rpm spectrum. I'd love to ride an R1 because I really want one, but I will not get an 07/08 because they have too many throttle/stalling/lag/electical issues if you ask me. the 09 will be the redesign year and I'm not into buying first year re-designs. SO, looks like I'll have to get used to that horrendous side mounted can and the front end the new 10r has. I'm gonna do a demo ride on one this year at IMS on the 08 10r and if I like it, probably get an 09 10r. But , that R1 is a sexy lookin bike.....

my first bike was a VTR1000. A liter bike yes but a very tame one. I rode it for about 50,000 miles before I got onto an IL4 liter bike, an 04 R1. I borrowed my my buddys bike for about an hour. I opened the throttle once on the highway and was going 140 before I knew what happened. Crazy fast.

Then I had to ask myself why all those guys on the track were slower than me on my VTR! I don't think I'll ever buy an IL4 liter bike, it's over kill in a huge way.
