State inspection tag on aftermarket FE?

fenderelim8kl

Sorry jacked the picture from 1000rr.net... it's from a user named MgA_ODEN and his location is spring, tx... i have the same exact FE but on the 600rr...

just wondering where and how much he got the metal addition to add to the FE so that the state inspection sticker is visible to the pigs, i mean leos...

Thanks.

$5 at a local shop. Probably cyclegear. I think I may have an extra one laying around somewhere. I'll look for you and post back up.

A state trooper that was at the shop when I was picking up my R6 said as long as it is visible on the rear part of the bike it was fine. Mine is on the swing arm. His biggest beef with bikers is a light on your license plate.

You HAVE to have a light on it on a motorcycle?

Mine is on the top part of the chain guard which is more visible than the swing arm. I have been harassed by a cop for it.

thats up to officer descretion, anytime you take it away from the 'rear' of the bike (thats the officers decision) you open yourself up to being stopped.

so if you do move it, don't whine about being pulled over just for that.

normally bright enough for it to be visible at a set distance, 50 feet in some states, not sure about texas.

That little piece of metal is called an inspectin sticker plate at more stores as it has been said already.

I have the clear lens on the brake light and it lights up the licence plate very well. I still have the stock rear fender too. no need to give the LEO's a reason to stop you.

the plate cost me like 2.50 today when i bought one, and i got a couple of bolts for my plate mount that have an led in them that shines onto the plate.
i got mine at cycle shack north in conroe, but i have seen them in several shops in houston.

so what do you ride? i'll get my buddies on patrol to keep an eye out for you
