Earplugs prevent blood spilling from squid-ears post accident.

Has anyone tried just using a earphone on one ear? The ones that actually go inside your ear.

when I ride with the ipod I only use 1 earpiece. I keep it on a low volume, just enough to hear, so I can still pay attention to other things.

i'm going to ride to school tomorrow morning with my CD player and see how it feels. i need to get a smaller MP3 player, but the CD/MP3 player should be okay if i put it in a zippable pocket.

I wear my Ipod in a breast pocket, one earbud, I keep the other ear open. But my Icon helmet is nothing but wind noise so I only use it on occaision.

try it, pretty much every ride i wear earplugs........got them at CVS howard Leight, like 33db reduction.
i ride from time to time with ear plugs, when i'm not with earplugs, i have a nano and some shure e2c ear buds.

http://www.shurestore.com/earphones/eseries_e2c.html

they cancel out noise very well, work better than my ear plugs, fits flush in my ear and don't interfere with the helmet any, a lil weird getting use to at first, but man do these things sound sweet!! (60 bucks on ebay they better) in traffic and such i take them out or i will keep one ear unplugged so i can get a better idea of whats going on around me, horns and breaks locking up, blah
