As least the truck put on his turn signal....gave a little warning.

+1 on the blind spot.

When I see "Right Lane ends" signs and similar I really kick up the awareness factor, because that is when peoples stupidity levels seem to peak. They are playing with the radio or on the cell and all of a sudden they go "Oh " and decide to make a quick correction without taking a second to look or even think about it.

If I am on the freeway I tend to try and stay all the way over in the left lane. Then you only have to worry about cars coming over on you from the right side.

The sad thing was the idiot riding RIGHT beside that gray F-150 forever. I cringe when I see motorcyclists riding that way on the freeway. The other sad thing is it happens every day. Riders in general ride just a stupid as "cagers" drive.

True, but just as that guy shouldn't have been riding as close to the truck's blindspot, the person in the truck should've checked it before merging. It's a 2 way street (metaphorically speaking) and both are at fault here.

The first video was definitely a little unnerving and I prepare for drivers like that everytime I ride, but even more so at night.

and then what if he decided to swerve into you and run you over? who wins then?

the guy was a dumbass for sitting next to the truck for so long, and then not reacting until the guy was practically on top of him. if he rides that route every day he should know that that lane ends, and prevent himself from being in that situation to begin with, ESPECIALLY with the left lane wide open.

as for the first video, that could have been easily avoided as well. at the start of the video you can see both vehicles are traveling at approx the same speed, the truck suddenly slows (reason for the decrease in gap between the two), and then trys to jump across the freeway to exit...the rider should have noticed the abrupt loss of speed, and distanced himself sooner. he got lucky and had an open lane next to him. imagine if he was riding next to someone like he was in the second video...no where to go. but what was the point of going 30-40mph down the freeway just to catch a glimpse of the truck that exited?? what was the point of that, besides making him a sitting duck to any traffic behind him?

guy needs to go and take the ERC before he kills himself.
