Not yet but looking at Honda Shadow Aero

uh, Hi...

Well, obviously, i'm new around here and i guess i should introduce myself, or at least my interest(s) in being here

My name is Doug, and i've been living in Lake jackson for the past 8 years.

I was lead here from a non motocycle related forum, after asking for leads on a place to ask questions about getting into riding.

I am pretty much a complete newb at all this, don't even have a bike yet. and to be quite honest, while i am sure i will be able to expand my general knowlege here, i'm not yet sure if i'm really in the right place to ask some of the more specific questions i have (more on that below). but i'm definately willing to give it a go and hope you folks will put up with my lack of knowlege.

OK, on to what brought me here and my own personal interest point RE: bikes

Ok first off and this is THE thing that appears to make me a possible minority amoungst the group here, my interests lie in the direction of cruisers and (some may say " forbid") Maxi-scooters, well ok the second part is MAINLY my wife's interest (someone showed her a pic of a piaggio MP3), but right now i'm doing the info gathering for us both.
the above is kinda reason i'm not certain i've really found the right place yet, b/c this forum seems to be mainly comprised sportbike enthusiasts, and the cruiser forum seems a little quiet. But of course i welcome anything that dispells this feeling.

so anyway i'm looking for any and all informations i can get with regard to getting started riding. be it info on when and where to take the MSF course. Since I lack any real expereince with motorcycles i consider this to truly be my first stop along the road to ownership. to what dealerships in teh greater houston area are the better ones to deal with/browse while deciding what i do adn don't want.

well that's me and i welcome any and all info you good folks can give me. thanks for your time.
