XR70 Problem

This bike ran fine 2 months ago, the last time it was started. Now something is locked up in the engine. I went to start it last weekend and the kickstarter was stuck, wouldnt turn the engine over. I drained the oil and pulled the clutch cover and the flywheel wouldnt budge. I guess next I'll pull the jug unless one of you gurus thinks it could be the clutch or something else.
My son has just about outgrown this bike and will be moving up to an 85cc so I will probably flip it soon, just not sure how soon because he still has a ton to learn this summer. I could get a chineese 125cc motor for $250 on ebay but I think I would rather fix the honda and keep it stock or go 88cc.
What is a good 88cc kit for the $$?
Will xr50 stuffs fit the 70 or only 70 stuff?
Should I just drop in the china mill (he needs to learn to use a clutch anyway)
Any other suggestions? My son is 12 but kinda small for his age.

The 50 and 70 motor use the same gearbox. Only the primary drive gear is different and, of course, the top end. Trailbikes makes a good 88cc kit. You can get either the stock or race head.

I have a complete lifan big valve head motor that will bolt right in, 124cc, with a manual clutch. bolt and go, wiring pugs directly to honda wiring. 150 if you want it. Runs perfect.

a trailbikes 88 kit will work too. the 70 head has the same size valvesz all the older raceheads so the regular 88 kit will work good with the stock 17mm carb you got already. josh's motor is a great motor too and either option will be a good one.

I think I'll buy the motor from josh for $150, my son needs to learn to work a clutch before he gets a high strung 85. Josh please consider this sold.
