The guy was a houston fire fighter. Its a shame we lost him. Screw those schmucks in the car. Being a fire fighter myself, if id seen them jokin around not caring, after they killed one of our brothers, I'd knock that out. R I P

RIP to the rider who died last night.

Keep your speed under control at night in traffic and that will help avoid the "thought we could make it" comments from automobiles that misjudge our speed.

Houston firefighter dies in motorcycle crash

A Houston firefighter was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a car late Friday night, authorities said.

Christopher Jason Boisvert,25, was driving his motorcycle east on Holly Hall when the driver of a gray Infiniti sedan pulled in front of him at a stop sign in the 8000 block of El Mundo, authorities said.

Boisvert's motorcycle struck the driver's side door. Fire officials said he was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Boisvert joined the Houston Fire Department in November, said Assistant Fire Chief Omero Longoria.

"He'd already made a lasting impression with his own crew," Longoria said.

No charges have been filed in the case. No further information was immediately available.

Hmm.. how'd they hit him with the side of their car?

I'm sorry folx...but until theirs a statement/ruling on the final cause, I can't condemn them completely. One of the posts here, has the investigator stating the rider was speeding.

Quote:
the guy on the bike was speeding some , about 20 over, the investigator said,,, a whitness that saw the guy right before it happend(i was coming from the other way) said he looked like he was going about 50, inves said about 60-70
...stop and think. Is this scenario possible... guy saw the bike, thought it was doing the speed limit and figured they could make it. Reality is the rider was exceeding the speed limit, saw the car and attempted to swerve thinking/hoping the car would stop (or possible target fixation at this point).

Not saying thats what happened, but I was thinking kinda the same. You see the bike and think you have room, but the bike is going faster than you estimate and BAM. I could see it and I'm sure that happens a lot. I pulled out in front of a car once and them realized he was haulin and it was close. It happened to be a cop.

It's hard enough to judge the speed of a motorcycle coming towards you, especially from a non-rider's perspective, let alone when you are speeding on a motorcycle. It's not just an opinion, and I've said this many times before.

A buddy of mine Kambui, got killed just like this a few years back. Some hat, pulled out from a stop sign in front of my buddy who was oncoming, thinking "i can make it". When he hit the truck, it left a small dent in the side, he flew over the hood, hit the ground & slid about 50+ft. Helmet was on, but came off during his collision with the ground.

It was determined Kambui wasn't speeding, this guy was just IN A HURRY, & HE DECIDED 2 TAKE A RISK, & unfortunately KILLED A GREAT GUY.

Sounds like the same here! I come that way to/from work everyday in my car, & it never fails that i have 2 screech brakes at that side street (who has the stop sign) as well as at the apartment driveways along holly hall, b/c of a head cager high tailing it across in a hurry trying 2 beat the oncoming. I've seen COUNTLESS wrecks on that street like this.

These people are SO IMPATIENT with the traffic on that street, they take countless chances. I would believe it should be their fault for not YIELDING RIGHT OF WAY. Coming from a stop sign or driveway into oncoming traffic, it's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY 2 CHECK BOTH DIRECTIONS for a clear path before proceeding. The fact that they ADMITTED 2 seeing him coming just highlights my point, whether he was speeding or not is irrelevant at that point, U KNEW there was oncoming and u pulled out anyway. It was as simple as just WAITING a couple of secs for the car/bike to pass, and this wreck coulda been prevented. Jus like my buddies.
