Exclamation 2 riders down in forest

Yep, i went down today along with my friend john. It was bad.

We were heading back through the forest after hitting 3090, almost to the 40 mph section coming into montgomery. There was light traffic so we were going below posted limit, i'm sure. There was a car turning left into a side street and some traffic behind it, didn't think much about it.

The first car in line had turned and i was about 100 ft away from his rear end. suddenly, a second car turned without looking to see if there was any more oncoming traffic. When the second car pulled out i knew i was going to hit him and i applied both breaks as hard as i could.

The next thing i knew i heard screech, bang, and i was airborne.

i woke up and started to move around but i heard people telling me to lay still, so i just shut my eyes. next thing i know i'm on my back and the EMS crew is saying sorry we have to cut up your nice pants. :/:

they started asking me all kinds of questions but i just couldn't remember anything, not even my name. they hoisted me into the ambulance and told me they were going to airlift me to trauma along with my friend. i started asking about his condition and they said he was worse than me. then i don't remember much but riding somewhere looking at emts and telling john i was there and it was going to be ok- to hang in there.

next thing i know theyre putting me on the chopper and i'm starting to remember th wreck. i talked with the aircrew and they said what it pleasure it was to have someone to talk to... that i was lucky.

long story short we ended up in the er and i got treated for a fracture and roadrash. no brain damage, no broken bones, no internal injuries, john is still there, not going to release his condition at this time though.

moral of the story, gear saves lives. i wouldve been a goner with out it all. shoei helmet, a star leather gloves(that got eaten through), motoboss jacket, motogp pants, and boots.

don't squid it up people... i never thought i would be a victim of the leading cause of motorcycle fatalities. and hats off to all those first responders, awesome people in my book.

Just couldn't wait to post up eh? Ah, FM3090 to 149 on over. Sweet stint. Good to hear you still with us and not on the other side man. Lesson learned from this story guys. It's almost 90% who's going to do something stupid to ruin your day.(The other driver.) Never stop scanning the area when riding and be smart. Think about what a cager might do or not do. Don't take risk unless you are absolute. Speed and cars that turn without blinkers cause accidents. I'm always thinking about the worst case scenario another driver might cause when around me. Don't matter if it's up front, left, right, behind. Always assume the worst and hope for the best. Heal up and prayers for your friend John. Gear does save lifes and your living proof. Lord knows I've had my share of accidents and then all our fallen friends. Heal up.

Take care!

Glad you are ok. Get well soon! I hope your friend is ok. Keep us posted.

I tried several times to visualize what happened. I can't get a clear picture of the sequence of events. Can anyone else?

sounds like an intersection with a traffic light... two cars. first car pulled out and turned as normal. second car didn't look and pulled right in front of the two riders.
