Not bad for someone who's never ridden that track on a bike

Of course, you've had tons of seat time since you started, and you certainly know your way around that track. Still, very nice time around!

Then he will probably be way faster...I'd like to find out though!
Come on out, you'll get your chance.

I think perhaps you misread...I've NEVER thought I was faster than Jody...just talkin some trash.

On topic...I called Pete...reserved a laptimer for the 8th. He sounded like he had a few more for those that need/want one.

Tom - na, I didn't reach my goal of breaking out of the 2:00's. Had a few 2:04's the last session. Might have been able to do better, don't think I had a clear lap in level 2. Talked to flyinduc last night and he confirmed that I'm way slow on the front straight. I could only manage 162's. He's pinning it at 186 on a stock GSXR K7 and freaking braking early. Of course early for him is probably well past the transition I think I'm rolling on the throttle too slowly coming out of 15 in second gear. Fast enough, however, to pull Larry down the front straight; woo hoo.

I'm slow at MSR right now as well, with a 1:51 being my fast lap from last Saturday. I don't know how the heck I managed the 1:47's in December. Of course, not riding between January and May didn't help.

Good news is that Patrick has the bike right now and he's going to help. GP-shift, quick shifter, power commander, brembo 19/18, and -1 on the front sprocket. Once I re-learn throttle control, it should help.

hey - here is a video of me at TWS (Texas World Speedway) running a 1:54 in a car that was stock 'cept for hoosier dot racing tires. Check the lines, somewhat similar to the bike line.

Still, 2:04 is dern respectable

I'm sure it's kinda frustrating in weird way knowing that you went faster in a race car, but still, you should be very happy with that time.

I'd wager by your next trip out there, and after Patrick loads you up with goodies, that you'll hit or break 2:00 there.

Dude, I was just able to watch that- incredible with a stock car! I love that at the end too: "2001 911 Twin Turbo, stock shocks, stock brakes, stock tires... "

Makes it sound like all the other dudes wasted their money on upgrades!

I enjoyed that car. Fast and relatively forgiving. Used to be able to pass GT-1 racecars driven by rich guys. Loved it.
