Why would you get the R6S? In that case just buy an 03 or 04 R6 and save on the depreciation. :confused1

Just trying to be a realist... if you're 16, never ridden before and want either one of those bikes, have your parents take a life insurance policy out for you.

I hope your parents aren't buying this for you. :BangHead:

Your 16? Get a YZ125 and run it into a few trees before you get a street bike.

Have fun getting insurance. Unless you pay with cash-money you're going to have to get full coverage... 16 with an r6 or gixxer = 300+ monthly if you're lucky.

I say get a 250cc 4 stroke or a 125cc 2 stroke and do strictly track days or go club racing. Or maybe an older 600cc...or SV twin that isnt titled. Anything cheap, buy it and track it. Maybe an MSF before buying a bike to get used to shifting and basic operation. Riding on the street at 16 with no driving experience is not a good idea, MSF or not...financially or otherwise.

Track days and amateur racing is good because you limit your exposure to death by t-bone via car, truck, 18 wheeler. Or your own testosterone. The track is a relatively safe environment where you will learn more in 6 months than you will in 3 years of street-only riding.

The insurance alone will kill you for street riding if you are below 18 with no driving record. If you get past that, your lack of driving record may kill you on the street. Get a car and a cheap track bike.

Just an idea.
