Pay-It-Forward Section

http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=54823

after being talked about i think that this would be a great and useful section for new people and old alike.

The rules need to be brainstormed but i think that is just little details. just need to make sure that people are abusing the gifts from others.

meh I dont think it would work, the first post hit it on the head, if you can afford a bike you can afford gear... they just choose not to wear it. the people of motohouston are more educated then most.

I really wish it would work but lets be realists here for a second. I saw 3 riders an freeways today with their helmets hanging on their sides, chances are one of the three had to have know about AGATT. I really commend your giving attitude Gryph. Why not think of some other ways (that is as imaginative as this idea) to help riders or people in general?
I have always thought about getting a list together of people who would help riders in need. A call list perhaps. with phone numbers added to assist a stranded, wrecked, drunk (you can flame him later lol) rider.

I don't see a problem w/paying it forward....those who don't like it don't get/give stuff for free...simple as that

If you can afford a bike, you can afford gear ???

Hmmm... I really can't figure how some people know the exact finances and situations of everyone else. I've had to stretch my budgets way out the past (and may have to do so again in the future). So, I'm more than willing to pitch in a few things to help out some fellow riders. "pay it forward" sound like a good program to me. You can't make anyone wear gear, but I can at least do my part and make it available.

I've got a couple pair of used, but still in good condition, gloves to throw in the pot.

I say we get it going...I'm sure the # of people who are willing to take advantage of free stuff is going to outnumber those that aren't....FREE STUFF FTW!

BTW...the help list for stranded riders is a good idea too

I'm for it. I may have an old Joe Rocket mesh jacket to throw in. I still wear it sometimes and I'm not sure if I am willing to let it go yet. But some day I will. Good idea Gryph.
