David, this event did happen sunday, thats how i was after we had OUR BREAK at the shell!, i might have even had my feet on the passenger pegs! And for the record, i was not going 30, more so 50 behind the rest of the traffic.

We all ride our own way, and have our own comfy position...no need to harp on other fellow two wheeled riders!

+1 I do it all the time too after long rides. It's not that I'm to sleepy to ride, sometimes it's just more comfortable.

Leave it to the same few to screw a what should have been funny thread up.

Some people just think they know it all. Well, a bunch of post on a computer doesn't mean that one has allot of experience.

Sounds like you shouldn't be riding. Merriam Webster defines, Tired, as drained of strength and energy : fatigued often to the point of exhaustion. If that is the case you should never operate a motor vehicle, especially one that requires balance. However, I am assuming you mis-spoke and meant you were sore... But keeping your hand under your chin, not a good thing... can't really make a grab for the clutch in an emergency in that case...

If she was saying that her back and legs hurt a bit from spending an entire day riding and she laid down on the tank, then that is fine as some of us do that. But that is not what she said, she said she was tired and you reiterated it.

No sir. I would have said bug comfy.

It was just a general statement. Now I do agree that the advice was good, but it just seems that some people try to correct all the time. Everyone lays down on the tank every now and then. Sometimes it feels good.

You hit the nail on the head. I was trying to help based on what I read. If it's not what she meant, then my response doesn't apply. I stretch on the bike. I put my legs on the passenger pegs. I stand on the pegs to stretch my calves. I even shift to one side to let a leg hang off to increase blood flow.

Still, my friend I referred to that fell asleep - has hundreds of thousands (literally, yes) of miles on a bike and I only hope to be half as experienced a rider by her age - and it still happened. She totaled the bike and broke her back, and she knows she got off easy. She thanks her lucky stars she isn't dead because she didn't just pull over and take another break (the last break she took was within an hour of the crash and she didn't want to "waste more time" taking another break so soon).

So yes, it can happen to anyone. Please let it not be any of us.

Alright, So my bad for not choosing my words more carefully. didnt think things would get so twisted around over a single word! Sore would have been a better word! Im sorry to hear about your friend!

Glad we got the misunderstanding cleared up! Everything is crystal clear now!

And now we can let the thread die! No harm, no foul!
