YAMAHA's new V-Max

gets my thumbs up

Quote:
The countdown has begun for a worldwide launch of the new musclebike all over the web, a rolling countdown on the Yamaha Motor Europe website is playing all coy and just counting down the days, hours and minutes but our men in Japan say that the build up is all for the new Max.

The new V-Max prototype has been doing the rounds at major motorcycle shows for the past 18 months - although only a full-scale model, the bike did show the firm's V4 Otodama motor which is widely expected to be at the heart of the finished motorcycle.

Although the bike will be presented to journalists in Madrid at the same time as it is launched on the website the bike won't be able to be ridden until around September with it expected in dealers Spring 2009.

Too much rake.

Cool idea, once again. Yammie (sorry to say) is the only one to pull this off, so let's see how they can up the anti.

Right... I will believe it when I see it. They have been pulling this every year and I get excited thinking it will be different, but alas... the almighty Vmax has been practically unchanged since it's conception With an exception of beefier forks and brakes... little stuff like that.
I would love for them to have an 1800cc engine that won't snap the drive shaft. I don't want it chain or belt driven or injected. I love the torque and the feel of the Vboost at 6500rpm. Just my opinion on one of the loves of my life

rumor has that they are trying to "civilize" the motor a lot as we speak. I hate cruisers with a passion but man what a bike it would be.
supposed to be over 200 wheel hp only because its detuned lol.
