Best place to get custom map for a bike

Gonna get my pc3 in this week, as well as my bmc air filter
and the bike has a akro cf slip on

would like to know of a good place that can make me a good custom map (not sure it that requires doing a dyno as well)

thanks
-marcus

How much does Motorcycles Unlimited charge to make a custom map?

Metric Cycles locally, or www.johnnycheese.com Johnny does any of my tuning that I don't want to do myself. He is in Round Rock though. Also try www.thirdcoastspeed.com he is in Lake Charles. Mike is tuning my turbo bike there now(tuning both the Microtech secondary fuel controller and a PCII)

Honestly though, for just a slip on, its hardly worth buying a PCIII and dyno tuning it.

Couldn't be more wrong.
A custom map will make the fuel delivery MUCH smoother (given the tuner knows wtf he/she's doing). Custom maps will make the bike run at optimum efficiency, and can lead to better economy as well.

I liken custom tuning to custom suspension. In tuning the fuel injection, you will work out the lean/rich areas that the factories are putting for emissions/noise restrictions/etc. This will make for more favorable ride characteristics (better on/off throttle delivery and such).

Would you ride a bike without the throttle cables adjusted taut?

I'd go with Motorcycles Unlimited or Billy Weise in the Austin area.

Stay away from KLOWN Speed works.....That ole crusty don't know about fuel injection. He tunes ECMs with a Yosh box(only 3 adjustments) and says he "hates power commanders" only because he has no clue how to tune them. His dyno is a joke and it doesn't even have wide band O2 on it.

I let him fukk me on a tune job back in Mar 2000 because I didn't know about busas then either....once I learned about them, I realized how big of a joke he really was.

He does stock a lot of race stuff and is pretty good with tuning carbs(going by how they run, not what the AFR is)

Do yourself a favor and stick with the tuners already posted..... Locally, Metric is your best bet. Andy is pretty and has a good dyno setup.
