Call your dealer with the vin. They should be able to replicate one for you.

First off, shame on you for blaming it on your daughter. Second, call the dealership with the VIN number.

Get you a new key, then, GET A SPARE. It still amazes me people don't have spares for every key, they are misplaced so easily.

If you don't have the key # tag, you'll need to pull either the helmet lock or the ignition switch and take it to a locksmith to have a new key mede.
Average cost: $25.00 - 50.00.

Some oddballs ones are more expensive.

ditto now I have 3 copies.

I got a ebay ignition without keys and got the key made at a local shop for $60. I keep one in stashed in my trunk (trunk/gas and ignition are 2 different keys). So if i lose my key i always have one unless i lost my house keys too (which has happaned).

just never have a key made from your gas cap. some gas caps dont use all the pins needed to turn the ignition.
