2006 gsxr 750 bar end problem!!

yesterday i noticed that the left bar end fell off sometime while riding and i went to cyclegear and bought a new pair. the problem is that it wont screw on to the handlebar bc the screw the bar end came with is not long enough. anyone know if the handlebar is supposed to be hollow on the inside? i will be at the NW meet tomorrow is i'll also try askin tomorrow. thanks

dave

i bought the bar ends but it seems that it needs a longer screw in order for it to fit on the handlebar.
