How Much Fuel?

Iíve done some reading, stickyís and such. Someone said to bring 10 gal of extra gas for a track day. I just want to arrive with a full tank in my SV1 and an extra 5 gal. Will I run out? how much fuel do you usually go through in a track day?
Any other pointers for a complete noob? Like I said, Iíve done some reading but any advice would be appreciated.

full tank and 5 gallons should be enough assuming your bike doesn't drink gas by the gulp...i.e. a Ducati.

or bring your bike and a $20. almost everybody will have extra gas, and I know MSR-H has gas there for sale at the track.

on a liter twin, I doubt 10 gallons is enough. My RC51, used to use alot of gas. TWS (Texas World Speedway) was the worst, I never ran my RC at MSRH, but that track is wide open in alot of areas as well.

Good point. Alot people who bring a large container of gas. I am sure a fellow MHer would sell you some out there.

Depends on the track and how you ride.

SV1000? As a fellow heavy-weight twin rider, you should be fine (in the beginner group) w/ a full tank and a 5 gal extra.

Once you get up to intermediate/advanced you would probably need more. Our big twins are thirsty ones.

full tank +5 gal should be enough for beginner's group. it doesn't hurt to bring extra though, i usually do and dump whatever i don't use into my truck afterwards.

A full tank +5 gal lasted me all day. I think it was like $6/gal for 111 octane fual at da track.
