Advice on a bike for buddy

Hey my buddy here needs advice on purchasing a bike. He knows that he wants a GS500F and he has searched all over. Here are the ones he has come up with. I dont know what to say myself and from my experience, asking motohouston has gotten me some REALLY good results so I ask again. Please enlighten me with your wisdom.

1) 2005 Suzuki GS500F - about $2800- $2900
Mileage: 6300 miles
color: blue/white
damage: Has light scratches on the front ferring (probably from rocks on the road), and on the mirrors from being scraped on the wall
Notes: clear title, current registration, everything seems to run well

2) 2006 Suzuki GS500F - about $3200 - $3300
Mileage: 3400 miles
color: black/gray
damage: has a quarter size dent on the tank from being dropped at the dealership apparently. Light scratches on the front ferring as well from pebbles on the road.
Notes: clear title, current registration till july, everything runs well

So which one will it be motohouston? I dunno what to say to this one, cuz I like Kawasaki, but he insists on a Suzuki so please help him out, cuz I have no idea about suzukis. Thanks in advance everyone. (You all rock on here with the advice )

first!

your boy has good taste in bikes. personally id go for the cheaper of the two just to pocked a few hundred bux for gear. the older one seems to have less damage as well.

other than that the question would be: which color does he like better?

From the description the first one sounds in better condition. A dropped bike is well... dropped even if it was at the dealer. More miles probably not an issue. I agree with Azylum, take the saved cash and put some extras on there to blow the wheels off bike #2.

+ I hate dents on the tank. SUCKY
