Arkansas roads?

At the end of the month a couple of us are going to Arkansas to do some riding. We're going to be staying in northern Arkansas in the Ozarks, not sure of the town yet. I guess the main question is what are some good roads, I know there are a lot of them up there, but which ones have you ridden and what were they like? The other question is where should we stay, what town?

If you can think of the actual road number it would be great so we can find it on a map.

Thanks,
Kane S.

If you go to the Arkansas board of tourism site, Arkansas.com, they have some routes mapped out in their motorcycle section.

There are some fantastic roads in Arkansas. We used to go up every year. Last year was the end of it for me. It just got too crazy and I thought someone would eventually get seriously hurt. Six bikes down out of thirty-one last year.

This year on the Talimena Parkway it happened. A great guy riding in the wrong group. I'm not putting this here to put a damper on your trip but as a reminder to be safe. Below is an exerpt from the forum.

"Friday, May 2, 2008

This information was given to me by CrazyTrain about 6:00pm Central Time. As most of you know, there are many of our zzr brothers in Arkansas attending a rally. I apologize if I have omitted any information, but the details are still coming in.

KN, a zzrbikes member, was killed when his bike left the road and he struck a tree. As I understand it, some members attempted to revive him, but his injuries were too severe.

He was 48 years old and is survived by a wife a two children. Please pray for his wife and children as they face this difficult time. I am sure details will be forthcoming through the evening so I will do my best to post them as they come in.

May comfort his family and friends. Please also pray for the safety of the rest of our riders who are still there and having to cope with this tragic loss of a fine rider and friend."

My only recommendation is to stay off Highway 30 at all costs...

Unless you want to ride over a tar line bump every 8 feet for hundred plus miles.

The Pig trail Ark. 23 was lots of fun the last time I was out there.

I forgot all the other roads but it was an amazing trip.

stay in Eureka Springs - HW 62 through it has at least eight 20 mph banked corners - in town.

good roads around there:
23
12
21
311
14
86 (missouri)
125
125 (missouri)
160 (missouri)
hw 62 north to Washburn Mo. then west on HW 90 to Noel and back

about any road out of Eureka Springs will be good.

Southern Missouri has the hilliest and crookedest roads

If you're anywhere near the tiny speck of a town called Ozone for lunch, stop and have a GUUUUUD burger at the Ozone Burger Barn. It's on Hwy 21, on the right as you come from north to south.

Almost any road out there is worth riding.
