What makes tires booger up?

What makes tires booger up?

I know this is probably an irrelevant question, but I知 just curious. I知 new to the whole understanding of tires and their characteristics on the track.

I know that riding the out of them, getting them all cooked up does the trick, but I guess I知 looking for the whole science behind the effect.

Any insight would be appreciated!

hmmm... a scientific cause i don't have. Heat and friction... I do know that it's a crazy coincidence that they always seem to happen at the same time as a huge grin!

I think the boogers are rubber from other people's tires... and your rubber gets picked up by other people... I think.

You get alot of boogers at TWS (Texas World Speedway), I think cause its a rougher track and the tires are wearing off quicker. GSS doesn't give you so many boogers, and tires last ALOT longer there.

I think I've heard the same from some car guys.......

I just thought that something changes within the surface of the tire to cause such an effect after a load of friction/heat is loaded on the tire.

Hmmm.....

No scientific knowledge here, but i suspect that its some of your tire wearing down and other people rubber like has been said.

I remember seeing some show about F1 racing and the big rubber that those cars would kick off to the side of the race line.

I think its kinda like rubbing your hands together when they are dirty/greasy/covered in paint or adhesive. When your rub them together and create heat and friction, the residue on your hands is heated up and up. Know what I mean?

Just tried it. If you didnt just wash your hands, then you can try it too. Rub your hands together really hard and fast then look. You should have little balled up flecks of 'gunk'. Im pretty sure this is KINDA like what makes tire boogers.

My tires always booger up at TWS (Texas World Speedway), but not at other tracks like MSRH. Same tire, similiar conditions.

It's a combination of heat and the type of track surface that causes the condition.
